President Joe Biden did what he always does, he put the country's best interest ahead of his dreams. After weeks of people first whispering and then shouting at him to get out of the 2024 Presidential race he did just that this afternoon.
Be careful what you wish for.
Professional politicians have been leading the charge to get him to drop out because they are scared shitless about their jobs not what's best for the country. Every single report from the boots on the ground door knockers is that by and large the American people are pretty happy with Joe Biden. They like him and they like what he's done for the country coming off the disaster that was the Trump years.
Big money and professional politicians won out.
Biden endorsed Kamala Harris, his Vice-President, as his choice to lead the ticket against Trump. My guess is that most of the money and politicians will get behind her by the end of the week. Here is the problem. Not one single poll shows she can beat Trump and that is before most of America hears her speak. Once she is on tv for a few days it is only going to get worse.
Before you accuse me of being a sexist pig here are my thoughts as to why.
I just don't believe the country is ready for a woman to be President. That is not my feeling, just my opinion. I especially believe she is as polarizing as Hillary Clinton was and still is. Again, not my personal feeling just my opinion. I don't think she has the temperament, organizational skills, or the smoothness that it takes to be President. Her public performances have not been stellar and her staff has said she is tough to work for. When your staff, who loves you to death says that it give me pause.
Can she win in spite of all this. Of course. Many people, myself included, would vote for a small boulder before voting for Trump so she, or whomever it will be, has that going for them. Can she carry the seven key states that will decide this election? Umm, fingers crossed on that right now.
Here is the thing that the Democrats and anyone who is determined to keep the country from becoming Russia must focus on for the next three months.
There is nothing more important than making sure Trump and the Republican Party do not get elected at all levels of our government. That is from your local dog catcher to President. They are dangerous and they need to be put out of our misery once and for all. Their agenda is to eliminate the Constitution, take away all of our rights and freedoms, and to turn the country over to Project 2025 and a worthless dictator wannabe pictured on the left.
Stopping this cult is mission one and there is no other mission.
