It's Our Time Again

If you are a frequent reader of this blog then you already know that I am not a fan of the degenerate in the White House today. He may be the most dangerous, stupid, and delusional person to ever hold this office and somehow he convinced 77 million, even more stupid then he, voters to elect him.

Unfortunately we can't change what happened but we can do things to effect change in how he and his minions in Congress operate. Before I get into what we can do I want to take a look back at some of the things we've done before to make changes happen.

Back when we were all much younger we fought the political battles against segregation, the Viet Nam war, human rights abuses, and a myriad of other things that were damaging our country back in the 1960's and 1970's. We didn't win them all but we won more than we lost and more importantly we made sure those in charge heard our voices loud and clear.

We held sit-in's. We marched in the streets. We passed out flyers in the mall. We voted out those that weren't in agreement with our goals. We wrote letters to our leaders telling them we weren't happy. Yes, there were some of us that got too carried away and didn't listen to what Dr. King preached, peaceful protest. Instead there were way too many cities burned and businesses and homes destroyed. Nobody was happy with these actions, but we still moved forward with getting our country back on track.

We did all this when many of us were still teenagers. While we may not have understood what all the potential repercussions might entail we knew we needed to do something so we plowed ahead no matter the cost.

Well, now we are all much older and hopefully wiser but from what I see on line there is still that shell of the teenager in us that knows what is going on today is just not normal or right. What is discouraging to me is when I see my peers giving up. It pains me to hear you say, well what can I do? Or when I read that we can vote these folks out in two or four years.

This is not what we said or did back in the day. We stood up tall, from the highest platform we could crawl up on, and shouted to the world that we were not going to stand around and let this happen. Guess what happened? We got changes made.

Today we have more political clout, more financial clout, and it is way easier to let our elected officials know how we feel. We have social media, email, texting, and blogs to let our leaders in Washington, or our state capitals, know we are not happy with what they are doing and we are going to do something about it. Sitting around wringing our hands and worrying about what these morons are going to do next is not the answer.

This isn't about our borders, it isn't about the price of eggs, it isn't about transgender people running track, and it isn't about tax cuts for the wealthy. This is about the destruction of the Constitution and the evaporation of our Republic by one man and his insane control over a political party that is willing to do whatever he tells them to do.

Yesterday I sent an email to my Congressman letting him know that I was not happy with his silence regarding the felons desire to turn the Ukraine back over to Russia. I demanded that he speak out letting the dear leader know that this was a line he couldn't pass. Russia is our enemy. It is not NATO or the Ukraine, they are our friends. There can be no peace until Russia gives them back their land they stole and agrees to stop terrorizing the region.

I have made the personal decision to be as loud, belligerent, and annoying as I possibly can to stop this anti America movement that the profoundly stupid followers of MAGA are on. I did not stand up for what was right fifty plus years ago to see it all taken away by one deranged lunatic for his personal gain today. I've had a good life and am enjoying my retirement so frankly, I have nothing to lose. I don't care if the FBI knocks on my door because I've called a sitting Congressman or President a complete worthless piece of shit.

Come get me.

We can all do our part to let our leaders know that they are not going in a direction we are happy with. Sadly the younger generation is not willing to make this commitment and so it is up to us to protect our country from within. I ask all my peers to find it within yourself to take the fight to the politicians and media. Tell them to stop lying about what is really happening. Keep their damn hands off of our money and healthcare that we paid into for fifty years. And stop acting like a spoiled bully to the rest of the world before someone stands up and punches us in the mouth and tells us to shut up.

It's our time again to fight the fight. Please join me.
